This red Vinho Verde is from Minho, in Portugal. Its dark, highly pigmented color may surprise drinkers’ palates with its bright acidity and its fresh and fruity flavors.
Traditionally a table wine in Northern Portugal, Vinhão is an excellent choice to serve with grilled fish and fried foods. Its naturally high acidity washes down high-fat foods, and its fresh, fruity aromas pair well with a number of dishes, including hot dogs and hamburgers straight off the summer grill. It could even be served with a slight chill on it.
